titles are for creative people, not for me

Don and I are not trying to get pregnant right now. Common sense dictates that we wait until we have at least a hint about what's going on with our failed launches, rather than just getting pregnant again right away and (presumably) losing it again. (Isn't one of the definitions of insanity to repeat the same action over and over, but expect a different result?) So why then did getting my period make me sad? Instinct? Habit? My optimistic subconscious whispering, maybe it will be OK this time? Here's a hint, subconscious: you keep thinking that, but you're zero for three. Nothing is more annoying than baseless optimism, you know. Please join me in the real world, where getting a period is a good thing! Or, at least a neutral event, unless it's so painful that I have to leave work early, as happened yesterday. Thank you. In the meantime, I'm trying to adjust to the fact that I won't be having a baby until I'm 28, most likely. That was SO not the plan. I had a plan. Hello Universe, didn't you read the script? Do you just wander onto the set tossing out random lines?

I've decided that doctors' visits are our new couples-hobby. Some couples take salsa dancing, some go hiking, some do bible study; we visit with doctors and compare notes after. I think we'll start hiking next-- all of the fun and bonding, but much less expensive and it burns more calories.

Still no decisions made re: Don's vehicle or lack thereof, which is OK with me. I especially liked our most recent conversation, which included this exchange: "Well in THAT case, it would make more sense for you to get the new car, and me to just take over yours, right?" Yes. Yes! But no. That would be totally unfair. We've also mulled over motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles with varying degrees of seriousness. Thank goodness his feet work just fine.

Fun, yes. Keep you dry on the way to work-- not so much. Perfect vehicle for a would-be family man? I don't know, can you put the infant seat in the side car, or does that break some kind of silly law?
